Hubby says it with manure
An Iowa farmer has given his wife her “crappiest” ever birthday present.
Dick Kleis used a manure spreader to spell out “HAP B DAY LUV U” in a field visible from the living room of the couple’s home.
Wife Carole was surprisingly happy with the gift of more than 50 tons of dung, reports the local Telegraph Herald.
“He’s done weird things before for birthdays,” she said. “But maybe not this weird.”
Washington judge says police can keep $401,000
The Walla Walla Police Department in Washington state, can keep $401,000 officers found in a vacant house.
Judge Donald Schacht ruled that the cash be forfeited as drug money and a man who claimed it is not the rightful owner.
Officers responding to a noise complaint in 2006 found the money at a house. An investigation led officers to methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine at a storage unit in Oregon.
A man caught attempting to flee out the back of the house initially said the money was not his but later tried to claim it.
Police Officer Tim Bennett says the department can only use the money for drug enforcement.
California woman’s car repossessed with toddler inside
Police in California say a car dealer who repossessed a San Jose woman’s Honda Accord left with something a bit more valuable: her 2-year-old son.
The child, Cyrus López, was sleeping in the back of the car when it was taken away because the boy’s mother, Isabel Leuvano, was behind on her payments.
Leuvano says she was waiting for her daughter outside the running car when someone jumped in and drove off. Police say the driver was 47-year-old Alberto Luna, the owner of Alberto’s Auto Sales. The toddler was rescued an hour later from the lot.
